Knowledge for All: Designing equitable foundations for open knowledge

The theme for 2018’s Open Access Week is equity, specifically, “designing equitable foundations for open knowledge.” As open becomes the default, strategies and structures for opening knowledge must be inclusive, equitable, and truly serve the needs of a diverse global community.

We will be hearing from early career researchers, higher degree research students and practitioners from Griffith University, QUT, and the University of Queensland, who are working towards making knowledge accessible for all. Hackers, open-source developers, open data advocates, Open educational resources (OER) researchers, and open science collaborators will come together to discuss their work.

Join us for this lively discussion around the crucial issue of open access and equity, over afternoon tea, and the opportunity to drink together afterwards at the Ship Inn.
